Italian Kimy Antonelli has entered Formula 1, becoming the world’s newest champion in the sport.
Antonelli secured his first title in just the second season in Forum 1, while during the 2026 campaign he managed to break several more records.

Antonelli became the youngest pilot in history to ensure a pole position in a Sunday race. He achieved this at China’s Grand Prix at the age of 19, six months and 18 days, breaking Sebastian Vettel’s previous record.
In the same race, the Italian became the youngest pilot to win a Forum 1 race after starting first. It was his first victory in a Sunday race.
Two weeks later, at Japan’s Grand Prix, Antonelli recorded his second victory in a row and climbed to the top of the pilot’s ranking. With that, at the age of 19, seven months and four days, he became the youngest pilot to have ever led the world championship, breaking Lewis Hamilton’s record.
In addition to personal records, Antonelli ended Italy’s 73-year wait for a new world champion in Forum 1.
He is the third Italian pilot to win the world champion title. Before that, Giuseppe ‘%noin’ Farina, the first Form 1 champion in 1950, and Alberto Ascar, who won two titles in 1952 and 1953.
