Coffee does more than keep you awake.

Coffee does more than keep you awake.

Daily coffee can affect not only energy and wake up in the morning but also the health of the intestines, moods, and brain functions. This is suggested by a new study conducted by the College Cork University in Ireland, which has found that both caffeine and caffeine coffee can benefit from these areas.

According to the study referred to by the medium Fox NewsThe research included 62 healthy people, of whom 31 regularly consumed coffee, while 31 others were not part of their daily routine.

Coffee drinkers usually drank between three and five cups a day. After a two – week period without coffee, they resumed their consumption, with or without caffeine, for three weeks.

The results showed that following the resumption of coffee consumption, participants reported reducing stress, symptoms of depression and impulsiveness.

However, researchers also noted differences in the effects of two types of coffee. People who consumed coffee with caffeine reported less anxiety and showed improvements in concentration tests.

Meanwhile, participants who consumed caffeine – free coffee achieved better results in episoded memory tests related to the ability to recall events and personal experiences.

The research also identified changes in some intestine bacteria, suggesting that coffee consumption can affect the relationship between the digestive system and the brain.

Coffee is more than just caffeine. It is a complex component of the diet that interacts with intestinal germs, metabolicism, and even emotional well – being, explained study author John Cryan.

Experts stress, however, that the results should be carefully interpreted, as the study included a small number of participants and does not testify that coffee is the direct cause of noted improvements.

Clinical psychologist Rebecca Steele has stressed that the best results in memory and concentration tests do not necessarily mean long-term improvements in everyday life.

She added that reducing stress and symptoms of depression reported by participants should not be interpreted as evidence that coffee can deal with depression.
