Kosovo Police Inspectorate ( The IPK has recommended the Kosovo Police General Director’s suspension from the task of the Procurement Director, to whom a preliminary investigation is under way on suspicion of misuse of official position or authority and conflict of interest in public procurement processes is under way.
According to IPK’s announcement, investigative allegations include dozens of procurement contracts, carried out through negotiated and confidential procedures.
Investigators are considering decision-making, the way to develop these procedures, as well as respecting the criteria and legal obligations by responsible persons.
To guarantee the integrity and the prosperity of the investigation, The IPK has recommended that the official be suspended until the outcome of the criminal investigation.
The inspector has announced that investigations are being conducted in co-ordination with the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo.
Because of maintaining the integrity of the investigation, The IPK has stressed that at this stage it cannot offer further details concerning the case.
