The S&P Global Ratings agency has changed the perspective of Meta Platforms’ credit rating from stable to ‘%negates, due to uncertainty about capital spending and free flow of money, Reuters reports.
The decision comes as the company expands investments in artificial intelligence. Meta envisions capital expenditures of 135 billion to 145 billion this year and plans to secure 97.5 billion dollars through stock sales.

S&P estimates it remains unclear when revenues from these investments will exceed rising costs. The agency forecasts a $39 billion free operating rate deficit in 2026 and 71 billion in 2027, reports Reuters I follow Dukagini.
According to her, high expenses can keep this negative indicator even beyond 2028, increasing the need for debt financing.
Meta has rejected the assessment of her ability to generate revenue from artificial intelligence. A company spokesman told Reuters that opportunities to develop products and businesses support its strong credit profile.
