Haziri: Police at the order of Jalal Svechla are attacking protesters

Protest organiser before the Kosovo Assembly, Liberation Haziri, has accused incumbent Minister of Internal Affairs Jalal Svecla of giving the Kosovo Police orders to intervene against protesters who are demanding approval of amendments to the Law for Specialised Chambers in The Hague.

Haziri’s statement was made during the protest, at the moment Kosovo police used tear gas to disperse protesters.

Besides being silent until today, today we were also attacked, hit. These cops that are more numerous today than we are yesterday were very few and we were very many, but we kept them as the eyes of our foreheads. Today these were ordered by Jedal Svechla, Haziri has declared.

Haziri has asked MPs to vote on second reading Bill on Change and Fulfill the Law on Specialised Chambers, rejecting the connection of the issue to the president’s election.

According to him, adopting the law should not be conditioned with political agreements or deals.

Our policy, our representatives have chosen not to have the law as a priority, but with the KLA law to condition their political positions, he has said, calling on MPs not to link the law vote with political office.

Haziri has also declared that protesters will stand before the Assembly and try to prevent MPs from leaving without legal changes being adopted.

Meanwhile, during the protest the situation has been tense, while Kosovo police have used tear gas following the launch of pyrotechnic vehicles and the obstruction of movement near the Framework object.

Earlier, the Kosovo Assembly had first approved the Bill on Change and Fulfilling of the Law for Specialised Chambers and the Specialised Prosecutor’s Office, with 91 votes for and none against. Final approval of it requires second reading voting. /Telegraphy.
