The United States is supporting a plan to restore Europe’s natural gas supply through pipelines passing through Ukraine, under efforts to reach an energy agreement between Moscow and Kiev before winter.
According to a report The Wall Street Journal, The proposal envisions Russian gas being sold through an American mediator, creating new opportunities for investors from the US.

The idea has been discussed by American representatives during visits to Moscow and Kiev, as it aims to alleviate tensions in the energy sector and provide supplies to the European market during the cold months.
However, the proposal is facing resistance in some European capitals due to sanctions against Russia and concerns of energy dependence on Moscow.
The gas supply issue remains one of the main economic and strategic challenges for Europe, while the continent’s countries are trying to ensure energy security and avoid major price fluctuations.
If the plan gets needed support, it could open a new chapter in energy trade between Europe, Russia and the United States.
