The European Union’s Mission to Rule Law in Kosovo, EULEX has increased the presence of patrols near border crossings with Serbia on the day elections are held there.
Through an announcement on the X platform, EULEX indicated that the patrols of the Formed Police Unit have been added since the early hours of Election Day, with the goal of monitoring the situation on the ground.
The European Mission stressed that activities are being conducted in co-ordination with the Kosovo Police and KFOR, within the three-level security response mechanism.
EULEX has not provided additional details about any possible incidents, suggesting that it is continuing monitoring the situation near border crossings.
