Sociologist Jeton Brajshori has criticised the institutional response to the killings of women in Kosovo, saying they are turning into a phenomenon that is normalising in society.

Commenting on the protest called after the assassination of Arlinda Zekiaj in Vitomirica of Peja, as well as the extraordinary session of the Kosovo Parliament, Brajshori has estimated that political parties should not get involved in the protests, since, according to him, they have had the opportunity to prove their commitment.

He has named the Assembly session unnecessary, voicing the conviction that it will not bring concrete changes, but will only serve the wages of MPs.

No party is allowed to participate in the protests. They don’t have a chance to tell themselves. Second of all, I see it’s a hearing, for me it’s a stupid session. Where MPs will go get a hired man and nothing. I’ll be done with that. All the mechanisms in hand and we get murders almost every week. These women’s murders have begun to turn into normality, Brajshori declared at the Dukagjin Five.

Meanwhile, the Fenist Thought and Action Initiative has called for a national protest Wednesday at 4: 00 p.m. at Zahir Pajaziti Square in Pristina, with the motto women’s murder treated as national emergency.

The goal has called on citizens to join the protest to seek the protection of women’s lives and security in Kosovo.
